Nordic altitude milonga record. |
|
During the milonga the snow on the platform was removed. Now the highest located milonga in the Nordic countries is ready for the 17th of May (our constitution day here in Norway).
Around base camp very rare observations of moscus was made.

Saturday 24th of April a new Nordic altitude record in
milonga was set on "the roof of Norway" in the Dovrefjell
mountains in the middle of Norway. The milonga took place at the top of
the highest mountain in the are, Snøhetta (2286 meters above see level).
On top of the mountain there is a wooden landing platform for helicopters, perfectly suitable for high altitude milongas. Due
to the snow conditions, the record from last year was beaten with 20
centimeters. A huge ghetto blaster was carried to the top to have
enough sound for the rough weather conditions, even though the weather
looked very nice when we started our ski trip.
When we finally reached the top the weather had turned to wind and snow, however NTCC didn't give up for that reason. To the top we wanted, and top milonga we had. The Nordic champions in high altitude milonga is: Ailin Bønå, Gunnhild Nilsen, Kjersti Birketvedt, Anne Celine Rostock, Stein Erlend Brandser, Karl Johan Reite, Vegard Heimly Brun and Anders Flaarønning. (The support team in the base camp was Kirsten Gjerstad Kjelstrup, Sølve and Ingrid Apalset). Herby we challenge other tango dancers to beat the altitude record. Good luck. |
